As the author Herman Hesse observed: when we learn to listen to trees, then our thoughts' brevity, quickness and childlike hastiness achieve and incomparable joy.

I showed four paintings and two etchings in this group show, inspired by these words from Shakespeare's The Tempest.
'Our revels now are ended. These our actors,As I foretold you, were all spirits and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.'

Around Time - Residency + solo show at the South Beach Lookout, Aldeburgh 2022.
Is linear time a human construct to help us make sense of a world we have created?
Could everything be happening simultaneously?
Woven into this exhibition are various elements that relate to this questioning of time.
On the ground floor were paintings and etchings in response to the land around Aldeburgh and Slaughden, a drawing (made during the residency) that journeys into its sounds and lifelines and a shifting through of lifetimes within the Herstory drawings and monoprints.
On the first floor, an invitation for to connect with the wild plant medicines that grow all around us and at the top of the lookout, was an invitation to explore what time means, in collaboration with Perienne.
