At the end of the episode Katie describes the artist Ithell Colquhoun's surrealist parsemage technique, which she has use lots in her own work. 
Below I demonstrate the technique in a brief video and you can see an example of Katie's work, using this technique.

What you will need: 
A bowl or tray of water, paper, kitchen roll, chalk pastels, charcoal, scalpel, kebab sticks, hairdryer, drawing pencils.
