Art and Story Podcast | Episode 4 | Andrea Mclean | Creative Practice.
Below are examples given by Andrea Mclean for the Creative Practice of Mapping, Compass and Cosmos making that she shares with us at the end of Episode 4.
How to Make your Compass:
What you will need:
Paper, scissors and something to draw with. If you only have copy paper and a biro this is fine too!
How to:
Either cut out a circle, or draw a circle onto a sheet of paper. Fold into 4, then open out and turn the paper over and fold into 4 again, to give you 8 segments altogether. Turn it back over again and draw a cross through it, so that you have 4 sections. These are your air, fire, water, earth. Collect ideas and symbols to represent these and add them into your sections. This can be just colour, or anything that you create from your imagination, or you may have symbols or things you have collected you wish to add in.
Then represent the heart in the middle, holding it all together.
There is a detailed description of this exercise at the end of the podcast episode with Andrea.
